Dark Sky Console is the operations map on a laptop you already own. It plots aircraft that are transmitting cooperative Remote ID — RID-compliant broadcasts when the radio is on. When a USB receive radio is connected it also plots 1090 and 978 ADS-B. You load a friendly-list pack: serials and callsigns you own (ENG, media, venue ops). Green is on that list. Red is a RID-compliant broadcast that is not on the list. Amber is RID with no usable ID. You own the list. Fingerprint and vendor packs, when loaded, corroborate a cooperative broadcast (make, family, prior look). Those packs are trained on named public Remote ID, drone RF, ADS-B, thermal, and radio-fingerprint recordings plus our own receive IQ. You get the packs, not the archive. You supply the radios. We set the console up with you.

Satellite map + spectrum

What you see, and what you do not

Green is on your list. Red is transmitting and not on your list. A quiet map is not a clearance. Receive-only.

What the Console hears

Remote IDDrones that are broadcasting the required US Remote ID message. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, depending on the radio you plug in.
ADS-B 1090Aircraft transponder broadcasts on 1090 MHz. Position, altitude, and callsign when the aircraft sends them.
978 MHz (UAT)US 978 MHz aircraft and weather broadcasts, when a 978 radio or dual-band filter is connected.
Radio energy (optional)The USB receive radio can show that energy is on its band. That is not an aircraft ID and not a range.
Operator locationShown when the Remote ID message includes the operator’s location. We do not find the operator by direction-finding.

Lists and packs

Friendly listYour spreadsheet of serials and callsigns you own. Green is on that list. We do not invent friendlies.
Remote ID fieldsID, location, operator, and self-ID exactly as sent. No invented tracks.
ADS-B fieldsAddress, callsign, position, and altitude when the aircraft sends them.
Fingerprint pack (optional)A make/family hint against a broadcast that is already on the map. Not a certified detector. Does not find dark aircraft.
Vendor pack (optional)A make table (DJI, Autel, FPV, ENG) applied only after a Remote ID or energy look already exists.
Keep-out boxesBoxes you name. Alert when a classified track is inside. We do not guess your keep-out.
Not includedLive FAA airspace query, FAA registry scrape, and third-party research radio libraries. Not in this license.

What the packs are trained on

What shipsFingerprint and vendor packs plus ADS-B priors, trained on public Remote ID and drone RF recordings. You do not download the archive. Raw IQ stays on our bench.
Remote ID and BLEOpenDroneID samples and BLE/Wi-Fi Remote ID captures. Make/family only after a broadcast is already on the map.
Drone RFNamed public drone RF recordings (DroneRF family, CageDroneRF, UAVSig, Rantelon, IEEE packs) plus our own receive IQ. Energy corroboration on the radio you plugged in. Not a dark-aircraft detector.
ADS-BOpenSky and trajectory-anomaly corpora. Cyan stays cooperative. Anomaly is a hint on a 1090/978 look that already exists.
Thermal and pictureWhen a Pi camera or thermal is on the same kit: HIT-UAV and multi-modal CUAS stills. A picture next to the track. Not Remote ID.
Interference detectGNSS and spectrum labels for jamming/spoof detection on receive. No jam. No spoof. Quiet is not a clearance.
Device fingerprintWLAN, LoRa, and BLE radio-fingerprint priors. A prior look. Not a house. Not a certified detector.
Not soldThe raw listen archive, IEEE DataPort zips, kit transmit, or gated effects.

Colors on the map

Green — yoursA usable Remote ID that matches your friendly list.
Red — not on the listA usable Remote ID that is transmitting and not on your list. Alert.
Amber — no usable IDA Remote ID message arrived without a usable ID. Alert.
Cyan — ADS-BCooperative aircraft on 1090 or 978. Not scored as unknown Remote ID.
Violet — radio energyEnergy on the USB receive radio’s band with no Remote ID. Corroboration only — never an enemy label, never a house.
Quiet mapNo live cooperative tracks. Quiet is not a clearance of dark or Remote-ID-off aircraft.
Stale tracksA track drops about 20 seconds after the last message, or if the radio feed dies.

What each track stores

Track IDStable while the feed is alive.
LayerRemote ID, ADS-B, or radio energy.
ClassYours, unknown Remote ID, no usable ID, or ADS-B.
Aircraft IDRemote ID serial or ADS-B 24-bit address.
ID typeSerial, registration, session, or network ID — as sent.
PositionLatitude, longitude, altitude from the message. We do not invent a house.
Heading and speedWhen the message includes them.
OperatorWhen the Remote ID message includes operator location.
SourceBluetooth, Wi-Fi, 1090, 978, or USB receive radio.
Last seenTime of the last message. Required.
FamilyOptional make hint from a fingerprint or vendor pack.

Rules we follow

US Remote ID (14 CFR Part 89)Console receives broadcasts. It does not enforce Remote ID and is not a substitute for it.
ASTM F3411The US Remote ID message set, mapped as sent.
OpenDroneIDThe public Remote ID format over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, radio dependent.
ADS-B 1090 / 978Standard aircraft broadcasts. 1090 is Mode S; 978 is US UAT.

Honesty

Dark / Remote-ID-offNot in the picture. A quiet map is not a clearance.
RingsMap scale. Not detection range. Not direction-finding.
FingerprintsA hint on a look that already exists. Not a certified detector.
TransmitNone. No jam, spoof, intercept, or take-over.
Unattended 24/7No. We set the console up with you.
